Custom Post Type RSS Feeds Custom Post Type RSS Feeds

The interesting thing in WordPress is that by default we can get any custom post type feed with the same feed URL just passing the slug of the post type in the query parameter post_type.

The custom post type RSS feed URL is as below:

http://mywebsite.com/feed/?post_type={post+type-slug}

E.g I have a custom post type Shortcode and its slug is shortcode. So my feed URL for shortcode post type is below:

https://wpdigits.com/feed/?post_type=shortcode

Custom Post Type + Taxonomy RSS Feeds Custom Post Type + Taxonomy RSS Feeds

Also, we can get the RSS feed of specific custom post type with specific custom taxonomies too.

That’s awesome right!

We can get it as below:

http://mywebsite.com/feed/?post_type=shortcode&shortcode-category=plugin

In the above example, the RSS feed returns the custom post type shortcodes which have the plugin shortcode category assigned.

Conclusion Conclusion

WordPress provides the RSS feed support for all the public custom post types. So, We don’t need any plugin.
